Chengwatana Farm is pleased to be a Host Farm under the auspices of WWOOF (Worldwide Workers On Organic Farms); we welcome travelers who want to stay for a time and work with us. Workers have come to us from Holland, Germany, France, and Australia as well as from the United States.

There are so many projects underway at any given time that we confidently say that we can accommodate pretty much any gifts people bring in the way of talent and interests. We specialize in helping workers gain the skills they need to move on to their own endeavors, either in the sustainable farming field or just life in general. The skills that are gained here serve people well in any walk of life.

We usually have a nice mixture of interns from North America and other parts of the world, and their stays usually range from two weeks to two months in length. A one-week probationary period is usually sufficient to determine whether the “fit” is a good one. We are always looking for that special person or couple who would like to become a permanent part of our community.

We do sustainable forestry too!
We can provide training and curriculum for a variety of sustainable farming and life skills if we know ahead of time, whether for personal development or college credit. A good library and plenty of time to use it helps establish an atmosphere of continuing education at Chengwatana Farm.
Farm girls!
Days start early during the growing season, but we encourage quiet time in the afternoon to sleep, read, swim, walk, or take a nap. When we are working, we expect people to work hard and not complain. Evening chores can make for some later 
quitting times.
The food is awesome, healthy, and plentiful. Most of it comes from the farm. We encourage participation in meal planning, prep and cleanup — these are important life skills for sustainable living!
There is an application process and a background check for prospective interns. We have a zero tolerance for tobacco and illegal drugs; other than that we just demand respect for the people, animals, and property here.
Hello,
I am interested in trading some volunteer work for new knowledge. I am especially interested in sheep, chickens, and forest management. I am a Minnesota native and not afraid of the cold. I will be returning from [meat] Goat Camp in TX at the end of October. I’m looking forward to a chance to get my hands dirty and gain some practical experience working with small ruminants.

Hi my name is Hugo Pacheco i am 24 years old and i graduated from NorthRockland High school in 2008. I consider my self to be a hard working driven individual with an acuity for perfection. Art is something that comes natural to me. I am currently trying to get on the road back school and become a successful artist someday. My entire life i have worked in labor from the kitchen to landscaping, and minor carpentry. While at the same time volunteering at the local arts center the Arts Alliance helping with organizing events, putting paintings up for gallery events, reworking walls and painting them, and office organization. I also worked with a sculptor as a studio assistant for three years on and off. While assisting his girlfriend Stephanie at loop fiber studio. They taught me so much about hard work and efficiency.
I have turned to this farm in hopes that you will give me a chance to prove my self as a worker and a person. The fact that you provide an environment where individuals can learn and grow is amazing and i hope to be able to take in everything the farm has to offer.
I think that i am an asset to the farm because i am a hard worker, a quick study, and i am open to learning about being a farmer. When I am not working I like to read a good book and work on my art. I am very handy and don’t mind hard work. I look forward to hearing from you thank you for your time.
